AVENANCE Internet Portal

For several years, Bussy St-Georges has been committed to promoting quality food and beverage service in its schools. The town is a demanding customer, especially in terms of in-school education about nutrition – a subject that is naturally linked to both social and family life. We do our best to be aware of the diverse nutritional models present in different cultures. Mealtimes are a great educational opportunity that is too often forgotten or neglected. It’s a good idea to help children cultivate early and simple notions about the basic food groups and about good health and nutrition. That’s why the town has decided to offer a new Internet service in the course of the first trimester of this year: http://bussy.cantines.com
Administrators use this site as a practical tool to create a link between Buxangeorgians and their school food services.
Bill paying: On-line bill payment with secured transaction
Practical: Access to the menus prepared by Avenance.
Fun: Avenance offers kids a variety of fun recipes they can prepare at home.

This public service has been entrusted to Avenance.

A new friend !
For the Semaine du goût (Taste week), there’s a new mascot: Lulu.
All year long, kids will run into this endearing, epicurean friend who gives them information about what they are consuming. Smart and clever, he teaches them how to avoid the big nutritional pitfalls, and put the accent on epicurean pleasure.
During the Semaine du gout, our hero Lulu will fight off the plate monsters: Sugarasaurus, Tyranosalt and Lipidopoil… and help kids figure out how to fend off these villains for themselves!

Lulu !
News from your child’s cafeteria
A word from Thierry DELAGE, Maire-Adjoint of Extra-curricular affairs.
Hello,
First of all, I’d like to send out my best wishes to all of you at the beginning of this new year.
In each of your schools, meetings with the food service director concerning the organization of the noon break will soon be back in session. Don’t hesitate to get in touch with the parents elected by your school to share your and your children’s observations and comments, so that they can pass the information on to us.
We will continue to work closely with our food service providers, Avenance and the Ligue d’Enseignement 94, so that the lunch period remains an enjoyable and convivial time for all youngsters in our different school districts.
Avenance works with nutritionists to offer balanced meals and a wide diversity of dishes to help teach children about taste. And the new “self-service” approach is helping children become independent in making the right choices on their own.
For cafeteria surveillance, a team of lunchroom monitors from the Ligue de l’Enseignement 94 helps children relax and enjoy their break before going back to afternoon schoolwork. Kids can participate in diverse activities like ping-pong, working on the “Cantoche Mag” newspaper, drawing, board games…
Cordially
Thierry DELAGE
Maire Adjoint aux Affaires périscolaires
