THE CCAS

The CCAS is a public establishment presided over by the mayor, and composed of representatives from Town Council and from diverse associations. The goal of the CCAS is to manage a network that develops preventative and social measures in conjunction with public (DASSMA, CAF) and private (Secours Catholique, Restos du Coeur) institutions. The CCAS is almost entirely funded by municipal subventions, and the rest comes in the form of a various, occasional contributions.

Legal Attributions

The CCAS handles requests for social-legal assistance, notably, requests for the RMI (“Minimum Revenue for Insertion” allocation), for subventions to pay for domestic assistance (Allocation Personnalisée d’autonomie), public transportation vouchers (cartes Rubis/Amethyste), COTOREP applications (for the disabled)…

CCAS – Actions and Commitments

The CCAS is there to assist residents who are experiencing social, domestic, or financial problems. Food vouchers and financial aid can be delivered, on an occasional basis, to people who are experiencing difficulties.

Disability

If you, or your child, have a disability, you may be eligible for a special allocation paid on a yearly basis.

Senior Citizens

Varied activities are offered (party for the Galette des rois, end-of-the-year banquet with gifts or gourmet food packages…), as well as the Buxangeorge shuttle that takes seniors to do their shopping.

Youth

Financial aid is granted to the city’s school children so they can participate in outings, activities and youth camps organized by the municipality.

The Shuttle

The shuttle provides free transportation for seniors who are unable to get out and do their errands unassisted. The shuttle runs twice a week, taking passengers from Bussy-St-Georges to the marketplace or to the grocery store. The bus leaves at 9 o’clock from the bus stop in front of the Mairie.
For more information, call town hall at 01 64 66 61 92, the CCAS, or Mr. Celas, at 06 07 33 19 54.
