If you’d like to fill out a request for housing in an HLM (Municipality-sponsored moderate income housing), you can pick up a form at the CCAS center in Bussy. To apply, you must currently live or work in Bussy-St-Georges. The Housing Department will accept your completed document and register the information before sending it on to the Préfecture.The town itself owns only 10% of housing, the prefecture owns 25%, and the rest is owned by independent agencies and individuals. A 1% charge patronal may be paid by your employer (to find out if you are eligible for this contribution from your company, ask your employer). When an applicant is presented as a candidate for a housing unit, the town can only act as a consultant in the transaction. The lessor has the final say in the choice of a candidate. Once a lessee has been chosen, the lessor is responsible for the rest of the transaction, up until the lessee takes over occupation of the unit.
