Hugues Rondeau

Mayor of Bussy Saint-Georges since 1998, Hugues Rondeau has been a man attached to culture and writings above all. Continuously seeking educations or elements of understanding in the past roots for the present time or future, he studied first History before his integration in the Institut Pratique du Journalisme of Paris. For him, the profession of journalist is more than a simple job but a passion he brilliantly practiced during 5 years producing numerous published articles and books. Among these works, the “Soul of democracies” in 1994 and “Meditations on Auschwitz” in 1996 have been particularly noticed by the press and publication professionals. He collaborated with national press and magazines of reference: “Valeurs actuelles”, “L’Express”, “ Les Éditions Atlas”, “Tout prévoir”, “Famille Chrétienne”, “L’Homme nouveau”, “Réforme”, “France catholique”, “Notre Histoire”.
However, his desire to be more active in the French society he observed and analysed so much were stronger. Hugues Rondeau engaged in political action through the Regional Council of Ile-de-France and Paris City Hall. His political profile was built during 5 years as Director of Cabinet of M. Paul Violet, deputy mayor of Paris and Regional Council of Ile-de-France Vice-president. In 1996, he settled down in Bussy Saint-Georges where he founded the Agir ensemble pour Bussy Association [“Acting together for Bussy”]. His convictions and the great relevance of his analyses have been a strength that seduced a young and dynamic team. They reached the city hall in 1998 with the mission to prepare an ambitious program for the new town future.
Successfully re-elected several times, Hugues Rondeau is now one the most dynamic mayor of the Region of Ile-de-France, accomplishing a town development with a per year growth 10% at least. The impulsion he gave to the city since his first election is perfectly illustrated by a continuous attractivity on a national and international point of view. Thanks to his action, Bussy Saint-Georges is nowadays a real laboratory of innovative ideas, a territory of successful and multiple experimentations and boldness.
